Capicua Distillery

A word of Catalan origin, born from the union of CAPI (head) and CUA (tail), which in Spanish-speaking countries came to represent something that can be read both left to right and right to left. In the Río de la Plata region, CAPICUA is also a synonym for good luck.

Destilería CAPICUA was born in much the same way—through chance and improbable encounters that, in a curious way, aligned perfectly. It grew from the friendship between two Brazilians who, seven years ago, were lucky enough to meet in Uruguay and, in this little corner of the world, formed a deep bond.

To add even more charm to this union, they chose one of Montevideo’s most iconic neighborhoods to establish the city's first Urban Distillery. Located in the heart of Ciudad Vieja, on a historic pedestrian street surrounded by bars, cultural centers, and century-old houses, it is a place where you can enjoy a warm atmosphere, taste delicious tapas, listen to great music, and try our exclusive selection of drinks, all distilled on-site using artisanal methods.
